About me
Michael Guidi is a horticulture researcher based in Denver, Colorado. One of his primary interests is the benefits of green infrastructure for urban biodiversity and the ecological patterns that emerge in these novel systems. His previous work has focused on how the unique conditions of green roofs influence plants and pollinators, aiming to provide a more nuanced understanding of the general claims surrounding green roofs and biodiversity. Michael’s current interests center around designing low-cost seed mixes to enhance urban infrastructure and green roof systems, a challenge that is especially significant in semi-arid ecoregions. He holds a Master’s degree from Colorado State University, is a Green Roof Professional (accredited through Green Roofs for Healthy Cities), and is employed at the Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver, Colorado, where he manages the Horticulture Research Program.
